Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

No, unfortunately insurance does not cover private professional health advocacy services.

What payment do you accept?

After all involved parties have agreed that health advocacy services are necessary, we will send an invoice through paypal, where you can complete the transaction with any credit card or bank card that paypal accepts.

How are you different from patient advocates offered through my insurance company or the hospital?

Patient advocates offered through insurance or through a hospital system work for the company or health system/hospital. While these advocates do great work and are an important resource, sometimes what’s best for the insurance company or health system, may not be what’s best for the patient/client. What’s nice about a private health advocate, is that I am not working for a company. I am working with and for you, with only your best interest at heart.

Additionally, most health advocates offered through insurance or hospital systems may have a background in nursing or care management—while of course these are extremely valuable, my background as a physician sets me apart as someone who can easily communicate with your doctors and help you to better understand your health conditions, medications and treatment plans, enabling you to make the most informed health care decisions you can make.

How much do you cost?

Cost is hourly and can be discussed fully during our free initial 20-minute phone consultation. If we agree from the start that you are going to need several hours or even weeks to months of help, we can bundle the cost into a several-hour or monthly retainer package, to help lower the overall cost.
